As the days start to shorten and the nights get a tad colder, many of us want to run and hide under the dooner cover and not come out ‘til summer. It’s cold, wet, and there’s not enough daylight to keep us entertained. We long for beach cocktails, warm breezes, and long summer nights as we fall asleep each night.

Once you’ve woken from the dreaming of summer slumber, there are many wonderful things to do in and around Adelaide during the Autumn and Winter months, and here are our TOP FIVE.

There are many beautiful wineries in the wine regions surrounding Adelaide that offer such a great opportunity to get out and about, taste some of the delicious wines our state makes, and see some of South Australia. We are thinking Clare Valley, McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills and the Barossa Valley to get you started!

Pub Days

Join us at The Britannia or one of the local pubs around Adelaide for a hearty meal, a spot of footy on the big screen, or a glass or two of some of the red wines on offer that are sure to warm you up. Pub food is the perfect treat for a cold winters night.

Head to the Hills

Head to the Adelaide Hills. Pack a picnic and enjoy the beautiful Autumn leaves in the Botanic gardens, or visit Hahndorf for a fun day out. There are so many wonderful places to visit.

Catch up with mates

You know the ones! The ones that you never seem to have the time to catch up with during Mad March or the busy months post-Christmas. Book a dinner out with some of those people you’ve been dying to see and make the time to reconnect.

Attend an event

Attend an event that you wouldn’t otherwise go to; the opera, a wine dinner, or a friend’s play. There are many wonderful things happening in our great city to try, and you might meet some new people too.

So get out and about, and don’t let the colder weather scare you off.

We have some exciting events coming up for the colder months at the Brit, so stay tuned for more details.
